If you have ever wondered what animals feel during a healing session, the answer can seem both simple and fascinating. Every animal experiences healing differently.
Some animals visibly relax the moment the healing begins. They may stretch out, sigh deeply, fall asleep, yawn repeatedly, or even begin snoring.
Others become very still, as if they are listening and feeling something beyond what we can see.
Some animals will move closer to you, while others may choose to sit quietly across the room, or may even walk around or go into a different room as they adjust to the frequency.
I’ve seen dogs drift into a peaceful sleep, cats begin purring unexpectedly, horses lower their heads and soften their entire bodies, and animals who were once restless become calm and centered.
Yet, not every animal reacts in obvious ways. Some appear to do nothing at all. They may continue resting, looking out the window, or going about their normal routine. Healing is still taking place.
Animals are naturally receptive to energy. They don’t analyze, question, or overthink the experience. They simply receive what they need. Sometimes the shifts are immediate and visible. Other times they unfold gently over the following days or weeks.
Just as every animal has a unique personality, every healing experience is unique as well.
What I find most beautiful is that our beloved animal companions know exactly how to receive healing. They trust the process. In many ways, they remind us how to do the same.
Weather your companion appears deeply relaxed, falls asleep, becomes playful afterward, or seems unchanged during the session, healing is meeting them where they are and supporting them in the way they need most.
Our animals are always communicating with us. They often show us that receiving can be subtle and gentle.
